Workplace design affects energy, focus, productivity, stress levels, relationship quality, and whether people feel supported or depleted by their environment.
People spend a third of their lives at work. These spaces matter, not just for productivity or talent retention, but for the daily experience of the people who work there. Behind every organization are people, and an effective, healthy organization depends on their wellbeing.
We design workplaces that support the whole person. This means spaces that honour different work modes, focus work and collaboration, activity and rest, connection and privacy. It means attending to light, air quality, sound, nature, movement, and the subtle qualities that make a space feel alive rather than draining. It means creating environments where people can actually do their best work while maintaining their wellbeing.
An Environment for Wellbeing in the Workplace
The impact of the physical built environment on us is undeniable. We spend almost 90% of our lives indoors, so enhancing where people work is essential to the productivity and growth of any organization. This is what our workplace design is about:
Functional: responds to the business and staff’s needs
Safe: accommodates people’s bodies’ abilities and limitations
Authentic: reflecting the business’ unique culture and values
Healthy: non-toxic materials and ergonomic work environment
Adaptable: ability to accommodate future changes easily
Inclusive: supports all intersections of culture, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and neurodivergence.
Sustainable: durable materials, low maintenance and ecologically friendly

Guiding Principles
Environmental Psychology: evidence-based study showing how the physical spaces impact people’s health, moods, sense of belonging, and functioning.
Wellbeing, biophilic, and trauma-informed design principles identify the design elements each workplace and business needs to thrive
Our Process
We begin by understanding both the organization and its people - the nature of their work, daily challenges, and what they need to succeed. We also work with leadership to understand company culture, values, strategic direction, and practical constraints like budget and timeline.
We assess existing conditions - the structure, systems, spatial flow, lighting, and environmental factors - identifying what needs improvement to ensure safety, health, and optimal function.
Our role is to synthesize all of this into designs that serve both organizational goals and human wellbeing.
We develop concepts collaboratively, refine through ongoing dialogue and feedback, then create detailed drawings and specifications for construction. Throughout, we coordinate with builders and trades, answer questions as they arise, and ensure the design comes to life as intended: a workplace that truly supports the people throughout their workday.
“Nora provided our organization with integrated planning support within an extremely tight deadline. Her holistic wellness design approach has allowed us to provide a new level of services to more people in space that focuses on a mentally and physically improved environment. The care and attention to our staff, understanding the vision and the outcome of her design work was outstanding.”
